Fantastic Friday

We had a great end to the week here at camp. The weather was beautiful and we got to do lots of fun activities.

We had our first campfire of the summer today. Each camper got to make 'bread on a stick.'

(No goats were harmed in the taking of this photo.)

Everyone made pipe cleaner animals during arts and crafts.

We also got to visit the camp gift store.

The gazebo at 'pow wow point' was a perfect place to sit and relax.

We also got to put photos of ourselved with our adopted horse in the frames we made.

Our Adopted Horses!

We had so much fun with our adopted horses this week!

The Falabellas adopted BJ.

The Shetlands all loved Mamba.

Quincy was the Pinto's adopted horse.

The Arabians loved their adopted horse Rosie.

Shadow was adopted by the Morgan group.

The Quarter Horses adopted another Quarter Horse...Zoe!

A Cooler Day!

Everyone is having lots of fun running our 'normal' schedule today after the past two days of heat!

In arts and crafts the Falabellas made flowers out of pipe cleaners and coffee filters.

First they used markers to decorate the coffee filters,

then they painted over it with water to make the colors run.

Beautiful!

During nature, the Shetlands took a 'trust walk.'

Josh (the sports leader) told the Pintos a funny story before teaching them the game 'capture the gazelle.'

During riding, the Arabians line up to trot.

Look at Lightning go!

The Morgans and Quarter Horses gather in the barn lounge for a lesson on bits.

Hot Horse Lovers' Week

We had a hot start to our fifth week of camp. On Monday and Tuesday we decided to shorten riding so that we would be all done before lunch, and we did some other fun activities in the afternoon.

We played water games on both Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday afternoon we made horse treats with apples, molasses, and grain.

We left the comfort of air conditioning to walk up the hill and feed the horses our handmade treats.

On Tuesday afternoon we made treats for ourselves (while we learned about horse hooves). We also had a great time playing pictionary. Everyone made the best out of some very hot days, and we are glad that it is much cooler today!

Thursday Fun

We have been having a great morning! Take a look at what we're up to today:

The Falabellas got to try english riding,

and trail riding.

The Shetlands and Pintos listened to a joint lesson on horse healthcare.

The Morgans put on mini skits during drama.

The Arabians created beautiful tie-dyes,

and then Katherine taught them how to make lanyards with gimp.

The Quarter Horses played a funny game of 'Knights, Horses and Cavaliers' during Sports.
