Adopt-a-Horse Week 9: Continued

Adopt-a-Horse week nine really helped us finish the summer strong with such a wonderful group of campers! All the downhill activities were a blast while the girls got in touch with their creative sides during Arts & Crafts, showed off their sporty selves in Sports, and got down to Earth in all their Nature classes. The real treat this week though was watching them form a lasting bond not only with their new two legged friends- but their adopted four legged companion as well. Grooming, leading, and loving up on their adopted horses was by far the highlight of the week, besides all our time spent riding in the arena. We were gifted a stretch of beautiful weather too, just to top off our week.

Friday was by far our best day thanks to all the enthusiasm the campers- and staff- showed for the Super Hoofbeat theme. From the Color Wonders super hero group to all the Superwomen roaming about, it was quite the adventure in camp.  The camper with the best costume  was even awarded a small prize compliments of Ted himself. I think the second best part to our Friday celebration were all the fabulous songs the ladies prepared for the Parent Showcase. The girls really sat down and thought out how they wanted to present their adopted horses- and boy did they! Great job this week ladies and we hope to see you again soon here at Hoofbeat. Until then though, here are a few photos to help commemorate your time spent during Adopt-a-Horse week nine. Adopt-a-Horse Week Nine: Group Pictures

The first day of Adopt-a-Horse Week 9 was a delight! The weather was perfect, the horses were wonderful and we couldn't ask for a better group of campers. The kids had a great time getting to know their group's adopted horse with some grooming time and a photo-op. They also all enjoyed their first lessons together as a group- in the riding arena and in their other activities. Although riding was, as usual, the highlight of the day, I think grooming and Arts & Crafts were a close second. To help you visualize all the fun we had, here are some photos from this week. Please stay tuned for another picture update this Friday, otherwise feel free to check out www.facebook.com/Hoofbeat for more photos. Note: all the individual pictures from their photo-op have been posted on facebook for your convenience.

Horse Lover's Week Eight: Continued

Horse Lover's week eight was a real treat up on the Ridge! It was a jolly good time watching all the new (and veteran) Day Campers explore their love for horses through all their equine classes. Whether is was Horse Science, Riding or Horse Fun, the campers all showcased their desire to learn and did a great job improving their skills. It was a joy watching them establish bonds with fellow campers and horses alike. We were gifted a stretch of beautiful weather too, just to top off our week. The campers seemed to really enjoy their downhill activities as well. They all got creative during Arts & Crafts time, especially where tie dye was concerned. In Nature, everyday was an adventure with everything from a scavenger hunt to nature jeopardy. Sports was always an exhilarating time with group games galore, some team building exercises and even a visit with the Hoofbeat goat kids for change of pace.

We finished the week strong with "Jungle Fever" Friday. The camper with the best costume  was even awarded a small prize compliments of Ted himself. As promised earlier this week, we have done our best to capture some of this week's adventures on camera, from the arts & crafts time to riding, and everything in between. For more photos (including all the silly faces we could muster), please go to www.facebook.com/Hoofbeat.

Trail rides were another fan favorite

Arts & Crafts really helped the ladies show off their creative sides.

Horse Lover's Week Eight: Group Photos

The first day of Horse Lover's Week 8 may have been a rainy one, but we all still had a fabulous time of it! With everything from grooming horses in Horse Fun, to making memory books in Arts & Crafts, and even some Jeopardy in Nature, it has been a fun filled adventure all day. The campers seemed to especially love doing one large group game of "lie down tag" during Shenanigans time after lunch with the whole Day Camp. To help you visualize all the fun we had, here are some group photos of everyone from this week. Please stay tuned for another picture update this Friday, otherwise feel free to check out www.facebook.com/Hoofbeat for more photos.

Small Animal Care Week Seven: Continued

Small Animal Care week has been a great time here at Hoofbeat! We got to meet all sorts of lovely small animal friends, including a hedgehogs, a norwegian elkhound, two miniature horses, the Hoofbeat bunnies, our very own Hoofbeat goats and the newly added Hoofbeat chickens. Of course, riding was still the highlight of the week for all the groups- we even got to try our hand at bareback and trail riding on Thursday! As promised earlier this week, we have done our best to capture some of this week's adventures on camera, from the small animal lessons to riding, and everything in between. For more photos (including all the silly faces we could muster), please go to www.facebook.com/Hoofbeat.
